Hubert Hurkacz shut it down.
The former world No. 6, who underwent arthroscopic right knee surgery on July 2, announced on social media on Friday that he will not be participating in another game this year.
Hurkacz wrote…
I want to thank you very much for all the messages, support and goodwill words you have received from you. This is very important to me and gives me a lot of energy.
I feel good, everything should go, and it looks really positive. Every day, I work with the team at the gym, court and physical therapist every day.
Meanwhile, I know that to get back to the game and compete at the highest level, I need to prepare for 110%. That’s why the best decision is to start next season – fully ready for the fight.
Thank you for being with me and meeting you soon in the game!
According to the Infosys ATP Win/Loss Index, the 28-year-old has a record of 15-11 this season. He ranked 69th in the PIF ATP rankings, well below his career highest score in August last year.
He has not withdrawn from the second round of S-Hertogenbosch since his back injury on June 12.
