Hudson Swafford Details PGA Tour Suspension

Now, eight-year PGA Tour veteran Hudson Swafford looks a little different.
The 37-year-old professional has won three wins on the PGA Tour before joining Liv Golf, but has been injured over the past few years. In fact, Swafford doesn’t even have a competitive match at the moment. Instead, he is working in multiple real estate.
“I used to be in a really bad place on golf and on the golf course, so it was very refreshing to do new things,” Swaford told hosts Colt Knost and Drew Stoltz in this week’s Subpar.
Still, Swaford said that while he admits the path is currently “vague”, he won’t completely rule out the comeback of professional golf. reason? Swafford was relegated from LIV last year after playing for three seasons and said he is currently in a five-year suspension on the PGA Tour.
“I’m a little good on the PGA Tour, but a little craving,” Swaford said. “It’s still not fixed by stones. I know they’ve established a pause until ’27, and I know they’re based on a few guys after the ’26 season, so they can change the rules to support everyone back.
“I know some people don’t have any status,” he continued. “And, you know, it’s been a tough year, no PGA-Tour approved event, but then you can come back and play.”
Swaford said he wanted to know what his game schedule would even look like when he returned to the Tour in 2027, given the reduced number of living schedules now.
“I’ll keep betting and say that the past championship category is almost done after this year,” he said. “I mean, we can agree or disagree, but that seems to be that. They’ve told me. So I mean, I think you can sign up for the qualifiers on Monday, but I’m actually going to be basically suspended until 27 years of Q-School.”

Why was Swaford slapped in the face after five years of suspension? He said it was because he played five Liv golf games on the PGA Tour in 2022, so he was unable to get media releases.
“So they gave me a year for everyone and it’s equal to ’27,” Swaford said.
When comments and/or clarifications were made with Swafford’s claims, one travel representative replied: “The trip did not comment on discipline issues.”
