I don’t want another Freddy Krueger to play Robert Englund

Robert Englund will win a star on October 31, 2025 in Hollywood’s Celebrity. It is a well-deserved reward for a wealthy profession, but also one of the pop culture landmarks, Freddy Krueger. At the age of 78, I saw Englund considering his flowers and ended up with him Nightmare on Elm Street The villain of the cinema.
I like Freddy Krueger’s character and think you can spin some infinite nightmare from this particular idea, but when looking at the big picture, I can only have two desires for the character: 1) Don’t make Freddy Krueger’s films anymore. Create a new character that can be a generation’s own boo, or 2) the new Freddy Krueger can’t try to do what Robert Englund does with the character.
No more Freddy Krueger
My strongest impulse is to make Freddy Krueger’s character uncertain. In that sleep, dreams may have come from the monsters born in today’s horror movies.
Black phone number 2 Bring back the previous movie Human Boogeyman as a supernatural stalker in Freddy Krueger’s vein. But instead of simply doing the copying work, writer C. Robert Cargill and co-author/director Scott Derrickson have their own characters who can make their own characters and play with their contents of The Heart of Black Heart. I would rather see more horror characters, such as the looters appearing, becoming new faces in the genre.
But look, I love Freddy Krueger. I don’t want to live in a world where we still don’t tell Freddy Krueger’s story. Original movie, A new nightmare (My favorite franchise movie) and a must-see showdown Freddy vs. Jason (In a very different way) it’s all about people stopping Freddy Krueger pointing fear to fear.
So if we had to have a Freddy Krueger, it wouldn’t be the character of Robert Englund.
No more Robert Englund

Robert Englund Nightmare on Elm Street And turn the character into his idol to build a career. This means Freddy Krueger is partly a vicious hero, or at least a fascinating mascot of Robert Englund. Englund’s delicious hammy performance matches Freddy’s usage perfectly as a character for the joy of dark comics.
So if there must be a new Freddy Krueger, they either have to go back to the essence of the first film and the characters or be really radical about the whole concept. You can’t try to respond to what Robert Englund brought to Freddy. This is part of the endless questions of the 2010 remake, and I hate that I have to mention.
If Freddy Krueger must continue as a pop culture figure, the next avatar must cut his own unique path into strange ways with the characters. Freddy is known for being a one-line, but what about a Freddy who never talks? Freddy is the real world killer, but what if Freddy is just something that exists in her dream?

I’m sure there are a lot of young filmmakers who have ideas about Freddy Krueger that I can never come up with. Give them the rope! Let them go crazy in radical ways, but don’t let any one lead with Robert Englund as the character’s performance. He carved his own foot, it will always exist, my nightmare is Boogeyman.
Making something surprising so Freddy Krueger might be scared that he could have a whole new nightmare.
