IHG will open Indigo Hotel in Spain in 2026

IHG Hotels & Resorts revealed plans to introduce its hotel indigo brand to the 75-room property in the Balearic Islands, which is scheduled to open in mid-2026.

This new conversion property will join IHG’s expanding Spanish portfolio, marking the country’s eighth Indigo hotel, including open and plumbing projects.

Willemijn Geels, Vice President, IHG Hotels & Resorts Europe Development, said: “Indigo has been introducing must-see attractions around the world at a rapid pace to capture the spirit of local communities everywhere.

“Menorca’s long history makes it an ideal place for our hotel Indigo brand, where hotels can capture the true spirit of the neighborhood.”

Located in Mahón, Indigo Menorca has harbour views and a location to Menorca Airport.

The hotel will have a private terrace in each room, a restaurant with sea views and an outdoor pool.

IHG is working with Senator Hotels and Resorts to leverage their experience in the Balearic Islands.

Daniel Rossell, owner of Senator Hotels and Resorts, said: “We are delighted to have a successful partnership with IHG Hotels & Resorts with Hotel Indigo Menorca.

“IHG has proven to be an industry leader, not only with its global enterprise, but also adopts a collaborative approach to working with owners. This strong foundation has made us perfectly successful and we look forward to immersing our guests in a unique local experience in our hotel.”

In Spain, IHG currently operates 57 hotels and develops 15.

The new properties will join the country’s growing list of hotels in Indigo properties, four of which have been opened and three more.

Last September, IHG unveiled the signing of four hotels of various brands, including Vignette Collection and Hotel Indigo, to strengthen its footprint in Spain.
