Insta360 X5 Review: The Best 360 Camera You Can Buy

Insta360’s X-Series 360 Degrees Camera has long dominated the market. They have excellent video quality, easy-to-use interface and simple editing software, which makes them the initially friendly 360 cameras. The latest version of the Insta360 X5 continues this tradition while bringing more beautiful videos to the larger sensor.
The X5 is worth upgrading; better video quality and improved battery life, and new features such as PureVideo Lowlight mode and interchangeable lens make the X5 the most eye-catching 360 camera on the market.

The big news in the X5, even if you already have the X4, is considering an upgrade, is the new Twin 1/1.28-inch sensor. They are a considerable advancement in the 1/2-inch sensor in the X4. Meanwhile, the video specifications have not changed much at all, with the high-end 8k 30 fps and 5.7k 60 fps. A larger sensor with the same resolution means more detail in this video, which is exactly what you get here. This is undoubtedly the best lens I’ve seen from a 360 camera.
Remember, 8K refers to the overall 360-degree shooting. When you actually frame that lens in the app, the highest resolution you can export is 4K. But the 4K lens you will get is significantly better than the ones that the X4 offers.
The lens from the X5 is great For 360 camera. But remember that almost all other newer action cameras will have better video quality. The appeal of the 360 camera is that it captures what’s behind you, and the Insta360’s traditional action cam, the Ace Pro 2 (8/10, wired suggestion) cannot. This makes the 360 camera perfect for shooting when you are not sure how to frame the lens, such as cycling, skiing, skateboarding, etc. In the past, to get this kind of shooting, frame effect flexibility, you had to give up some video quality. While this is still the case to some extent, the X5 has hardly given up on video quality.
