Near the end of the 36th MCU movie, Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Red Guardian (David Harbour), John Walker (Wyatt Russell), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) and Sentry (Lewis Pullman), the ragtag band of antiheroes known as the Thunderbolts (a name even they couldn’t agree on) are redubbed “the New Avengers at CIA Valentina Moving in Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus).

The film’s post-credit scenes make this rebrand more branded and have potential superhero copyright conflicts. Marvel Studios’ marketing campaign seems to follow her leadership, not only revealing new titles, but also adopting actors to get more attention.

On Instragram, Marvel Studios revealed the footage at the premiere of the movie, which showed Florence Pugh Thunder* Poster title *New Avengers. On Twitter, Marvel Studios released a video in which Sebastian Stan replaced his winter soldier’s character poster with a new updated poster.

But what does the changes in the titles mean by these billboards, posters and videos touting?

This movie is called Thunder*? Still now called *New Avengers? It’s like The edge of tomorrow or Ghostbusters (2016), where did the studio change the name of the movie? (For these movies Repeated deaths on the spot and Ghostbusters: answer the phone, respectively. )

It’s not like that.

On Disney’s official website, the movie is still called Thunder*. If you book tickets on Fandango, you will still book Thunder* –Even both sites have updated posters. This seems to be a long-standing move in marketing, but not an official change to the MCU title.

Thunder* Director Jake Schreier explains marketing transfer to The New York Timessaid: “It feels like if Val also tried to pull the Switcheroo and sell the new Avengers to the world, we could do that too. Especially considering that the asterisk has been in the movie for a year, hopefully it won’t sweat it — it feels like it’s a plan and we built it.”

Online, poster exchange is not effective. Fans are not frustrated by the Avengers’ reboot, but are confused by the seemingly champion changes and annoyed that the plot point of the third show was on the internet and on the real world (via billboards and posters) as a full week before the movie.
