Israel is closing six UNRWA schools operated in East Jerusalem
Israel plans to close six schools in eastern Arab Jerusalem by the Palestine Refugee Agency.
He added that police and employees of the Yelu Outer City Council had forced their way into the school.
Israeli police did not initially comment on the incident.
“About 800 boys and girls are directly affected by these closure orders and are likely to miss the completion of the school year,” wrote Outdoor Director Philippe Lazzarini.
Israel accused the UN Palestinian Relief Agency of participating in the armed activities of the Islamic Hamas Group.
The Israeli Parliament imposes a ban on works in Israeli territory, and the country’s parliament will take effect at the end of January.
Another law prohibits Israeli authorities from contacting the Bank of Relief Works.
According to media reports, an Israeli hostage was released, saying she was held in a near-level agency facility in the Gaza Strip.
Israel had previously ordered the closure of several outdoor schools in East Jerusalem. The Jerusalem City Council said that this will take care of affected students after the near-outdoor work ban takes effect.
