Israeli air strikes for the second time since the truce

Israeli air strikes hit the outskirts of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, for the second time since a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah militia.

The IDF said it targeted a Hezbollah terrorist who supported the planned upcoming attacks on Israeli civilians by members of the Allied Palestinian Islamic Organization.

The man posed a direct threat and was “eliminated”, the IDF said in a statement on X.

The strikes attacked the Dahi suburb of Hezbollah fort Beirut, the second attack since the ceasefire began in November.

According to an unconfirmed Arab report, a residential building was created. No immediate reports of casualties.

On Friday, the Israeli military said it had hit Dahieh’s Hezbollah facility, which was once used to store drones. Prior to this, the IDF said it had intercepted two projectiles targeting northern Israel from the direction of Lebanon.

Iran-backed Hezbollah militia have been firing in Israel for more than a year since the Gaza War began in October 2023 to support Hamas. Israel responded with large-scale air strikes and ground offensives.
