Thirlwall struggled with anorexia as a teenager and has been recovering since then.
“Now, I’m in my 30s and the healthiest I’ve ever been, but every time I post a photo, there are comments saying, ‘She’s bound to be pregnant.’ Sadly, usually women,” she told the media, revealing how comments that commented on her body online affect her mental health.
Thirlwall added: “People are used to seeing me in a group environment five to ten years ago because I’m sticky, because of my eating disorder in my 20s.

Thirlwall was 18 years old and sought treatment at a local hospital. Her discharge was approved a few weeks before her audition Factor X.
