Keegan Bradley clicks Gary Woodland

US Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley on Wednesday named Gary Woodland as the fifth and final vice captain of his team, who will regain the trophy from Europe this year at Bethpage Black in New York.
The 41-year-old Woodland scored the 2019 Open in four wins on the PGA Tour, after appointing Jim Furyk, Kevin Kisner, Webb Simpson and Brandt Snedeker among Bradley staff.
“I’m full of respect and admiration for Gary and everything he’s accomplished in this game,” Bradley said.
“As a major champion, still at a high level of competition, he is well aware of the requirements for performing at the biggest stage of golf.”
Woodland will be in the Ryder Cup for the first time as vice captain or player. He represented the United States in Australia’s 2019 Presidents Cup, scoring 1-1/2 points in the United States’ 16-14 victory.
In February, Woodland won the PGA Tour Courage Award after returning to the US Tour full-time competition for brain surgery in 2023.
“Kegan’s passion for this event is infectious and I’m very happy to be a part of it,” Woodland said.
“It was only over two months before we arrived at Bethpage and I was completely committed to doing everything I could to help Keegan and our vice captain and the team of players.”
The Ryder Cup is scheduled to be held from September 26 to 28. (Reported by Toronto’s Frank Pingue)
