Kenta Maeda plans to pitch in Japan in 2026

Appearing in “Sports Real Live” (a Japanese link from Yahoo Japan) on Tokyo TV, Kenta Maeda Says he will leave North American baseball behind by the end of the 2025 season. Motor revealed that he initially made a decision after signing a two-year, 24mm contract with the Tigers, which would be his last contract with a Major League Baseball team, and he hopes to maintain his career with Japan in 2026.
Motor (38-year-old April) began his career, starting his eight seasons at Hiroshima Carp before being appointed to the MLB club and signed with the Dodgers for an inspiring eight-year, 25mm deal with the Dodgers in January 2016. Maeda met a major league campaign suitable for the 202222 North American season in North America, about one he has recovered from nine seasons.
After struggling with his first year of tiger contract, moving to the bullpen this year hasn’t changed the fate of the bullpen, Detroit released right-handed in early May. He then joined a minor league contract for the Cubs before being released in early August, quickly landing in another minor deal with the Yankees. This season, over 76 1/3 of three innings, the Blacks did not show any old form, posting 6.25 ERAs for top members in New York and Chicago.
In a Tokyo TV interview, Mada said his family had lived in Japan for a year as a minor in order to have some stability, and Mada has now bounced towards multiple teams. His latest live score (or lack of performance) has nothing to do with his decision, and as Motor said, if he wins 20 titles at the major league level, he will return to Japan after 2025.
Since it looks like the Yankees won’t call Maeda in September, his MLB resume may be closed in part of the 226 games (172 of which starts) with the Tigers, Twins and Dodgers. MAEDA has an ERA of 4.20 ERA in the regular season, a strikeout rate of 25.8% and a 7.8% walking rate, and a 3.24 ERA in the 986 2/3 career innings compared to the 41 2/3 career playoffs in Minnesota and Los Angeles.
Despite his poor performance in his final scene in Detroit, the motor is usually a very effective pitcher for the Grand Slams. In 589 innings in Los Angeles, he had 3.87 ERAs with the Dodgers starting and relieving, although Maeda knew he prefers rotational jobs. The Twins trade ahead of the 2020 season gave Maeda a comprehensive starting job, finishing second in the Al Cy Young Award vote and earning a 2.70 ERA in a 66 2/3 innings in the pandemic-stricken season. In a 2021 campaign, he didn’t shorten his effect like Tommy John’s program, although Maeda returned to the solid form of Minnesota Central Championship team in 2023 (4.23 ERA).
