Kremlin slams Europe’s decision to significantly improve defense
Russian leaders criticized the EU’s plan to significantly improve the group’s defenses as the Kremlin continues to launch war on Ukraine.
“The militarization of Europe is an extremely dangerous trend,” said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, who said it would neither lead to détente nor restore trust. “It would not make Europe safer, either.” ”
The spokesman said many Europeans don’t like it, but almost all politicians are paying attention to the mainstream.
Peskov responded the day after EU leaders decided to significantly strengthen Europe’s defense preparations in the coming years.
The European Union plans to mobilize 800 billion euros (US$868 billion) over the next four years, including 150 billion euros in arms project loans and violate EU debt rules for defence investment.
