LA Sparks to retire Candace Parker’s No. 3 jersey

CP3 let her jersey hang on the pants.

Sparks announced they will retire Candace Parker’s jersey on Crypto.com Arena on June 29 as the team faces the Chicago sky. Parker will join Lisa Leslie and Penny Toler’s elite companies, third and No. 11 respectively, as the third time ever enjoying the spark of the jersey.

Parker won the championship with Sparks in 2016 and was named the final MVP of the series. She holds the team’s professional assist record with a record of 1,331.

“It’s really an honor to see my jersey hanging in other legends. This moment is not only about me – it’s incredible support from my family, my teammates, and the LA Sparks organization and fans,” Parker said in an official press release. “I thank my parents, who believe in every step of my life, to my brothers, they’re still my heroes and my wife and children, who inspire me every day. The Staple Center (now crypto.com Arena) raised Laila, and that’s her playground growth, which is her playground growth. Keeping a record of record reminds me of everything, not a part of the individual, and to be a part of the others, and to be a range of people. In the moment, all the connections and all the love that makes me come here.”

Congratulations to Legend.
