LAGC secures top seed in TGL playoffs; New York NABS Finals

Los Angeles Golf Club lost Bay Golf Club for the first time in the TGL action and scored a 5-3 victory in the Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, on Monday, finishing the No. 1 seed in the playoffs.

To lead 3-1, Bay GC threw the hammer early on the par 10, and Australian Min Woo Lee hit a shot in the water while playing against England’s Tommy Fleetwood.

LAGC’s Sahith Theegala threw a hammer at Lee on behalf of her teammates, hoping to increase the value of the hole’s points again. Bay GC refused and scored the two points against LAGC.

Theegala then beat Wyndham Clark at No. 12 to beat LAGC (4-0-1, 9 points). Fleetwood hit his own chip in the next hole, halving the 13-minute 13 minutes with Lee.

Tigala once again beat Clark in 15th place to provide the final profit.

After the match, Theegala explained why he celebrated Lee’s signature move when he made his chips – “Dr. chipinski Pagination”. Tigra said he knew it might fire another team.

“If you’re going to do these things, you have to be ready to take it too, so we’re going to give it to it,” Theegala said. “It’s just a fun thing. It’s another thing that TGL allows us to do. It’s hard to do this once a week on the PGA Tour. It’s all fun.”

Lee made 13 and 8 feet on the third and fourth holes to make the Bay GC (4-1-0, 8 points).

Shane Lowry of Ireland, who is third in the BAY GC match, said he found himself very concerned about the success of his team in the newly formed league.

“I think if anything, it could be a blessing to disguise going into the playoffs,” Laurie said. “The back we might need might be a bit kicking, we can get our head lower and focus better there.”

NABS final playoff location in New York

The New York Golf Club scored five points in the final four holes, defeating Boston Ordinary Golf 10-6, winning the playoff berth while eliminating Rory McIlroy’s team.

New York’s Xander Schauffele “throws the hammer” in the 12th hole on par 3 and then made an 11.5-foot birdie putt to beat Australia’s Adam Scott with two points. The following hole saw Cameron Young beat McIlroy after McIlroy got on the green bunker and hit a bad shot on the green complex.

On the 15th and final hole of the game, Boston needed two points to force overtime and then threw the hammer right away. This time it was Schauffele vs. Scott, this time it was 5-5, and after Scott left a long birdie putt, Schauffele drove into the edge from about 7 feet.

New York (2-2-1, 5 points) competed in the playoffs at Los Angeles Golf Club, Bay Golf Club and Atlanta Avenue, which will not include Tiger Woods’ Jupiter link, nor will McIlroy’s unbeatable Boston Ordinary (0-4-1, 1 point).

Woods and McIlroy co-founded the Virtual Golf League, which ended on Jupiter’s first regular season against Atlanta.

Rickie Fowler, third member of New York’s game on Monday, helped the team score two points on the fifth hole of the third shot within 6 feet of the Cup.

“After the start we have [to the season]just entered the season [the goal] “We’re trying to get into the playoffs. After 0-2, we just wanted to dig and find something… we just started to find some form, so it was a good time.”
