Link to the fake Pakistan welfare program website to spread online
A federal official told AFP that the government welfare program ends in 2022 under the term of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan. Posts claiming that Pakistani people can still register to the program link to the impostor website that harvests user’s personal details.
“The application process has begun and each person will receive benefits of over 960,000 people.
It also shares a graph with the text that says: “The purpose of the program is to provide financial assistance to poor families.”
The post says applicants can register via a link that takes them to a page that asks for their name as well as education and income levels.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan launched the EHSAAS program in March 2019, as part of the Federal Benazier Income Support Program (BISP), which provides financial assistance to poor residents (link to archive).
The same claim spread elsewhere on Facebook, but federal government officials told AFP on April 25 that the plan ends in 2022.
All other posts requiring public registration of grants are “fake”, officials continued.
BISP has been published The March 26 video says people under the program who are eligible for other benefits plans register through a biennial survey (Archive link).
It does not mention registration through the website.

In addition, the website of the BISP program uses the “gov.pk” domain. But the link in the error post is hosted on a URL ending with .buzz (archive link).
AFP has previously debunked misinformation related to other false government websites.
