Los Angeles City Hall evacuates after vehicle crashes

Authorities said a vehicle crashed near the steps of Los Angeles City Hall around 4:08 p.m. Friday, prompting evacuation of buildings and roads in the area.

According to a department spokesman, Los Angeles police are trying to contact the driver, who, according to a department spokesman, have not come out of the vehicle after hours since the crash. The spokesman said surrounding streets and off-highway ramps are being closed as officials respond to the incident.

Police said it is not clear whether the crash was intentional.

The Los Angeles Fire Department is working hard to assist, but so far, no injuries have been reported.

The helicopter footage captured by KTLA appears to show a man in the car, with two posters on the dashboard and an oxygen tank in the passenger seat. The poster seems to have written information: “Don’t want to hurt any body”, “I need your help D. Trump our veterinarian”.

“I have briefed the ongoing incident outside the city hall, which is currently being evacuated,” Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass wrote in an article on X.

This is a developing story that will be updated.
