This highly respected portable cold-loving device is the latest beauty tool available in many celebrity skin care programs, designed to be used at home or on the go. Promising to improve wrinkles, faded scars and pigmentation, and nearly alter your skin, the Lyma Laser can solve many skin problems with needleless or bulky LED masks.
The standard Lyma laser (with an 8 cm treatment lens) was launched in 2020, while the larger, larger Lyma Laser Pro version has a 30 cm facial and body treatment lens, both of which have dropped. A-Listers love it. Hailey Bieber reportedly used Lyma Laser as part of her preliminaries cheese skin preparation for glowing results, while Carey Mulligan praised its effectiveness with the Oscars attending for its effectiveness as it faded between her eyes. With such positive feedback online, I long to try Lyma Laser on my tired mom life skin because who doesn’t want to wear flawless skin?
Lyma is different from anything else on the market. Founded by former journalist Lucy Goff, Lyma Laser is the first FDA clinical-grade cosmetic laser for home use. The technology was originally developed as a medical laser in the research department to heal injuries such as degenerative cartilage, tendon tears and respiratory inflammation. But one positive side effect was noted: When the laser reaches damaged tissue inside, it significantly alters the skin and turns the signs of aging. So Lema was born. But this high-tech specification comes at a price. Both jowl-triggered Lyma devices are priced at jaw-dropping prices – at the time of writing, the Lyma Laser is $2,695, while the Lyma Laser Pro is $5,995. Desire to see if I can notice a significant improvement in skin tone, I tried Lyma Laser for 12 weeks.
Just glide or hold
The portable cordless Lyma laser is different from anything I’ve tried before. It uses a 500 mm “cold-rain” beam at a wavelength of 808 nanometers (near infrared) to promote cell regeneration in 8 square centimeters of skin. To use the laser, you simply slide the tip across the face and neck profile, or secure it in the problem area for three minutes at a time.
The device comes with a luxurious black box, complete with its own USB charging dock, information brochure, cleaning sponge, handbag, and 30-day Lyma oxygen mist and oxygen glide designed to be used with the laser to optimize results. A copper membership card is also included so that you can activate the warranty and join the Lyma Power Circle, a member’s consultation and course.
Before I started using Lyma Laser, I had a zoom call with Lyma Concierge, which is the service the brand provides to all customers. LYMA Representative (with flawless skin) provides advice to get me started. She suggested that for the first 12 weeks I would have my face parted into four parts and then slide the laser through each part, sliding the laser for three minutes at a time. I could also simply put the laser on the problem area for a few minutes. After 12 weeks, she recommends using lasers four times a week. After just one week I should expect to see the immediate glow, but for 12 weeks and over I should be able to see a bigger change in my wrinkles, skin elasticity, crow’s feet and two-bite dishes. I was a little self-conscious, but excitedly started, and I charged the device for four hours, applied oxygen mist and gliding (including active stable oxygen) to my skin and started working with the laser.
Significant results in one week
My first week with lasers is novel, I love washing my face, applying gel, and using lasers in the kitchen while waiting for the kettle to boil, in front of the TV, and even in the kitchen. I have tried LED masks in the past, and although both are designed to improve the skin, the technology used by Lyma Laser is different from LED masks, which use light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to penetrate the skin at a shallow level, usually reaching the epidermis and upper dermis. Lyma’s near-infrared laser penetrates deeper, reaches the skin, is absorbed by mitochondria, and enhances cellular energy.
I like that you can use this laser with caution. It can be conveniently under makeup or over-makeup. While it’s better to keep the gel for as long as possible to get full moisturizing effects, I found it too sticky so I remove it after each meeting.
When using the laser, I make sure not to apply pressure or pull the skin and do a “exhaust toxin” on the facial lymphatic system. During my second month, when the gel was running out, I was happy to use regular face creams and facial oils, which I thought worked just as well as lasers. The replacement bottle of 40 ml of oxygen and 50 ml of oxygen gliding is sold for $175.
