Mahle wins electrification order in China

Mahler said it has obtained another order in China’s electrification field. It is providing future battery power models of DC/DC converters to international automakers in China. It said the contract volume was 200 million euros.

The production of the Mahle Changshu location will begin in mid-2028.

“China is the leading market for vehicle electrification and I am glad that this order will enable us to expand our business in the world’s largest automotive market.”

“China’s innovation rate is huge. We think there is a possibility of further growth, especially in the areas of electrification and thermal management.”

The DC/DC converter converts the voltage of the high-voltage battery from 800 volts to a low-voltage level of 12 volts. This provides all 12 volt equipment for vehicles that cannot be provided with 800 volt battery voltages, such as cameras, multimedia systems, or electric pumps.

Maher said it will produce the product (about 600 employees) at its current electronic activity in Changshu.
