Man shot by police at Toronto airport

The shooting involving police outside Toronto’s Pearson International Airport cut off traffic to Terminal 1, authorities said Thursday.
Peel area police said a man was shot and officers were not injured in social media posts. The shooting happened outside the terminal.
Peel care workers said they received a request to attend the airport at 6:56 a.m. and no one was taken to the hospital, but they would not confirm if anyone died.
Photos of Canadian media at the scene appear to show a body under a yellow tarpaulin outside the departure area of the airport terminal.

“There are isolated incidents and no known threat to public safety,” Peel District Police said in a statement.
Ontario police said the road was closed from Highway 409 to Terminal 1.
Videos posted to social media earlier Thursday appeared to show a large number of police officers outside the airport.
The car seems to be backing up along the road leading to the terminal.
