Metropolis chooses Blade Tidwell; Danny Young undergoes Tommy John surgery
The Metropolis announced this morning that they have chosen the right contract Blade tidwell This is the first move reported earlier this week. Tidwell will occupy Southpaw’s 40-man lineup Danny YoungTommy John’s surgery will be on the list of 60-day injuries due to elbow problems. Tommy John was first reported as a possibility for Young earlier this week.

Tidwell, 24, is the second rounder for the 2022 draft Mets and runs with a 1.93 ERA in his draft year. He was excellent at the lower minors in the promotion to the 2024 season before hitting his first major rough as he advanced to the Triple-A Partway. Last year, he released a 5.93 ERA in 85 innings in Syracuse, and the season has not been better as he released a 5.00 ERA in the first six games of the year. That being said, Tidwell’s 31.6% strikeout rate is encouraging and his walking rate is 8.5%. Tidwell’s struggle this year certainly has at least some .369 BABIP to improve, so that suggests that he could theoretically post better results in the beginning of today than his Triple-A numbers might suggest.
