Mexico mourns photographer who was killed in a misfortune at music festival
Two photographers’ relatives and friends died in an accident over the weekend at a music festival in Mexico City, paying tribute to their lost relatives on Monday.
Photographers covering the Axe Ceremony Festival died Saturday when the decorative structure collapsed.
They were identified as Berenice Giles, 28, and Miguel Hernandez, 26.
President Claudia Sheinbaum said it was an accident, but clarification should not be punished.
“We have to see how the dropped device is built,” she said in a news conference.
When the crane collapses, the structure is being moved by the crane.
The accident happened Saturday night, but the festival lasted until midnight and was eventually suspended.
The company was scheduled to continue on Sunday with rapper Tyler the Creator and British bands on a massive offensive.
Officials from Miguel-Hidalgo, downtown Mexico, said that after the final security check, the fallen structure was apparently added, including the park that hosted the festival.
