Morikawa splits with Caddy Jakovac, reportedly hiring Greiner

World No. 4 Collin Morikawa split with longtime caddie JJ Jakovac and reportedly hired Joe Greiner to replace him.
Jakovac confirmed his exit in a text message to Golfweek on Tuesday. It was first reported by Siriusxm PGA Tour Radio.
Jakovac has been Morikawa’s only caddie since he turned into a career in 2019. They won six championships on the PGA Tour, including two majors.
Siriusxm PGA Tour Radio first reported on Greiner’s hiring, winning the veteran Caddy for weeks.
He chose to separate from his close friend Max Homa in early April.
Greiner then filled the legacy of Masters and RBC for Justin Thomas’ injured caddie Minister Matt “Rev”, who won his first tour victory in nearly three seasons. Thomas, who ranked fifth in the world, said the arrangement was temporary until the minister recovered from his illness.
Morikawa has served in Jakovac for six years, including victory in the 2020 PGA Championship and 2021 Open Championship. Morikawa won the last time at the Zozo Championship in October 2023.
He won his second twice in eight games this year (Sentinel in January, Arnold Palmer Invitational in March). In his career, Morikawa has finished 11 runner-ups, two-thirds, 29 top five and 44 top ten, while also making 109 of 129 layoffs.
Morikawa and teammate Kurt Kitayama missed the layoffs last weekend at the Zurich Classic in New Orleans.
Morikawa’s next scheduled event is the Truist champion in Philadelphia from May 8 to 11.
