Nebula’s new X1 4K portable projector is liquid-cooled
Have a projector in your home cinema, and the flexibility provided by a portable model is equally valuable. This means you can set up an impromptu large screen in your backyard on those glorious long summer evenings. However, portable projectors also have a less powerful sound and less impressive view or compromised trend. It is this problem that Nebula seeks to solve the problem of its latest flagship portable projector X1, which is designed to provide the power of a home projector in a movable body.
The X1 is a triple-ray unit with a promising 4K UHD, and the Dolby Vision Video has 3,500 ANSI lumens that should easily fill a 300-inch screen. You can place it on a stand, table, or floor, and the array can be tilted up to 25 degrees to find anywhere you place the screen. There is a 14-element glass array inside the body, and the company says it should provide reliable image quality for the lifespan of the device. It is also flexible, with optical zoom, allowing you to cast a 200-inch width screen on a screen between 13 and 22 feet.
Another big problem with the projector is sound quality, but Nebula believes it solves the problem as well. Not only does the X1 have a quartet side speaker, but it also costs more money to pick up a pair of wireless 20W satellite speakers with its own built-in battery. Each satellite is connected to the X1 via Wi-Fi, with eight hours of battery life, and the IP54 is rated at 54 to ensure that they don’t break if your movie night is interrupted by a rain shower.
Nebula also proudly boasts that the X1 is the company’s first portable projector to obtain its own internal liquid cooling system. Liquid cooling is common on high-end wired projectors, and Nebula says its inclusion here allows it to reduce fan noise to 26 dB. Depending on your friend’s talent level, this may not be a good thing, and you can also buy a pair of wireless karaoke microphones with a battery life of 40 hours.
The X1 runs Google TV and a pair of HDMI ports (one with EARC), and the rest of the spec list is what you’d expect. It can be purchased in the U.S. on June 20 for $2,999, and the accessories package itself will get you back $999, but you can bundle it for $3,298. In the UK, this is a similar situation, it can be purchased for £2,199.99 on May 21, and the auxiliary package costs £500, but if you order between May 21 and June 15 you will get it for £2,350.
