New Gaza attacks could help restart stagnant negotiations

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar believes that the new attack on Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip is a way to force a restart of negotiations on an extended ceasefire agreement.

According to Saar, U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff recently made two proposals to expand the ceasefire and hostage/prisoner swaps, both of which rejected the Palestinian Islamic Islamic Group. He added that the two sides were in a stalemate for two and a half weeks in the negotiations.

“If we wait any longer, things won’t change,” Thal said.

Israel’s Foreign Minister said that the release agreement for the release of hostages was released after the Hamas-led terrorist attack held in Israel on October 7, 2023.

Hamas rejected the Vikov plan because it hopes to implement the second phase of the Gaza agreement immediately, which ended the war and the evacuation of Israeli forces. This was originally intended to start in early March.
