New York City Mayor Eric Adams says Cuomo

NEW YORK – New York City Mayor Eric Adams said Monday that it was the former administration. Andrew Cuomo privately urged him to withdraw from the November mayoral election as their moderate parties scrambled to find a way to defeat Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani to the greatest extent.
Adams said on Monday that he had no intention of hearing Cuomo’s call – thinking Cuomo was the one who should end the campaign in order to accept democratic socialist Mamdani in the November 4 game.
“I said, Andrew: ‘Are you so arrogant?’” Adams said, describing the recent conversation he accused Cuomo of encouraging him to drop out of school. “I am the current mayor, I am the current mayor of New York City, and when you just lost to Zohran with 12 points, did you wish I could quit?
The mayor continued, “They heard your message and you were lost.” The match “Now let the fresh legs produced for the city” compete.
Adams withdrew from the June 24 Democratic mayoral primary this spring, due to the ongoing political influence of his federal corruption indictment, where he will be re-elected in November.
Cuomo’s name will also appear on a separate line in November, as the deadline is over.
Cuomo hasn’t made it clear whether he’s going to make a real election effort, as his team says he continues to consider his options after his biggest loss against Mamdani, who beat him with a 12% profit.
As a Democratic candidate, Mamdani had a significant advantage in November, as the number of registered Democrats far exceeded other voters in the city.
But Cuomo, Adams and other moderate forces have portrayed Mamdani as being too left-leaning and are working behind the scenes to find a strategy to beat him. Cuomo and Adams may be running aggressively in the November race, potentially hampering each other’s chances when they share a similar mid-support base.
When asked to respond to Adams’ latest comments, Cuomo spokesman Rich Azzopardi posted a screenshot on screen, a new poll of the November election showed Mamdani won the contest with 35% of the vote, while the former government finished second and second place. In the survey, Adams finished fourth with 14% of the vote, behind Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa 16%.
A spokesman for Councilman Mamdani, who represents West Queens, did not immediately return a request for comment.
Cuomo, who resigned as governor’s resignation in 2021 for sexual and professional misconduct, has been in public attention since his major losses.
However, his team continued to hold the former government candidate during the November showdown. In this case, his team noted that Cuomo won 24,000 votes in this year’s competition compared to the 2021 Democratic mayoral primary.
