No door closed on Jason Kidd of the Knicks: Report

If you thought the New York Knicks had planned it all since Tom Thibodeau moved, you weren’t alone, but according to Ian Begley, it wasn’t a big deal.
“There is no guarantee here for the Knicks, and there is no shoal when they fired Tom Thibodeau,” Begley said on Inside Out. “I think the plan now is what you see. They kicked the tires on everything. …”
In the classic Knicks way, that means everything. Jason Kidd’s name is still being abandoned, even if the Mavericks don’t fully open the door.
But, as Begley points out, this doesn’t necessarily shut it down either.
“It never happens without the pressure from Kidd or the people around him,” Begley said. “Maybe it’s attractive to their human side… Say, ‘Hey, this is my dream job.'”
If Jason Kidd wants to stir things up behind closed doors, there may still be a shot.
Meanwhile, Memphis’s Taylor Jenkins is expected to be one of the first official interviews. While names like Mike Brown and Frank Vogel are floating, there is no clear leader.
Even Knicks assistant Johnny Bryant and dominant champion Mike Malone? Begley doesn’t believe it’s the top spot.
“I don’t think these two guys are at the top right now,” he said.
Basically, it’s a widenet operation, no, it’s not just a Knicks Twitter meme.
“They are turning every stone over,” Bergley stressed. “They don’t want to hire someone like Frank Vogel and find out Jason Kidd is available two weeks later. It would be a big mistake.”
