Note Jayce: Odd numbers

The Blue Jays played a game against the Angels this week, giving Toronto reporters a chance to catch up with the new Halos Starter Yusei Kikuchi. The veteran lefty told Sportsnet’s Hazel Mae and Ben Nicholson-Smith that Jays did not make him a free agent offer before signing a three-year contract with Angels.
Toronto traded Kokucci to the Astronauts last summer. This is one of the larger cut-off rental deals as the Astronauts are separated from three upper-level players (Jack Bruce,,,,, Will Wagner and Joey Loperfido) Kikuchi’s service for several months. He performed well, working at the 2.70 ERA and averaging 6 innings per innings in 10 games.
Kikuchi Bowden Francis After changing him in the rotation, it did a great job. Francis was Toronto’s best pitcher in the second half, pitching to 1.80 ERA while hitting nearly a quarter of his opponent’s batsman. Of course, this won him in the opening day rotation Kevin Gausman,,,,, José Berríos and Chris Bassitt. Jays still need a fifth starter, but chose to focus their offseason resources on rebuilding the roster. Their only major rotation move is short-term investments, as they added Max Shezer $15.5mm per year.
Scherzer’s recurring thumb injury sent him on the injured list after he first wore a Toronto uniform. This tests Jays’ relatively thin rotation. Bloss, the three major leagues that started in Houston before the trade, was one of the highest depth weapons in the 40-man lineup. However, he struggled with 6.46 ERA in six games with Triple-A Buffalo and is now facing a shocking health.
Jays sent a 23-year-old to take an elbow image after his recent appearance. The team didn’t provide any other details, but they skipped at least one start. Bloss made his last pitch on Saturday, hitting five hits and three walks in 3 1/3 innings, and four runs.
Two days after Jayce signed, the injury of Kaihua was in Spencer Turnbull and José Ureña To add some senior stability until Scherzer returns. Ureña, who started the season with a three-pointer with the Mets, jumped into the fifth round. He threw 74 balls and scored two shots in tonight’s team debut. Turnbull was far away from the offseason before signing a style deal in the 1.27mm range. He played in a 40-man roster but agreed to be selected as the team’s Florida complex to enter the game shape.
Manager John Schneider said tonight that Turnbull threw at college batsmen in recent weeks (via MAE) by throwing them to college batsmen. The captain added that the optional term could last until 35 days until Jays needed to recall Turnbull to the major league squad.
