Old Ruler teammates reveal clever way to land on advanced serve time

This week’s episode of Subpar received some country music royalties: Brad Tursi and Trevor Rosen, two members of Old Dominion – the country band behind the No. 9 single – they joined hosts Colt Knost and Drew Stoltz to promote the new album of Old Dominion, new album of the new album, Barbarafalling on Friday. The two of them were also chatting golf.

Tursi and Rosen are avid players and make golf a part of their daily activities while on tour. How does this work? Tucey explained.

“In the beginning, I’m going to search the venue on Google Maps or whatever, and I’m going to zoom out and see where all the courses are,” he said. “You’ll see the tracks, just click on the best tracks and we’ll call them, like, ‘Hey, we want to play.”

“I’m a cold caller,” Rosen interrupted with a smile.

“I have a harder time throwing my name than Tursi,” Tussi said.

Rosen said his success rate was high. But he also adopted a victory strategy when he encountered tough times with his private club.

“You can tell how it develops based on how you evaluate the age of the person who answered the phone,” Rosen said. “If it’s like an old man or something, I think, well, he won’t know who we are. But a lot of times, I just say, hey, we’re with a band called Old Dominion, we’re in town, and we’re just trying to get out on any way, if there’s any way to get there.”

“About 90% of the time, ‘Oh, yeah, sure, when do you want to go out?’ And then sometimes I get, “Okay, this is a private course, are you a member? “I said no, when I was shot down, I would say multiple times that I could leave my name and number and then if anyone wanted to go to the show tonight, we could go to golf. I said, he said “Old Ruler” and he shouted in the club, and then he wrote down the numbers and I hung up.

“We’ll be on the bus and then two minutes later, I’ll see [imitates a cell phone buzz]. “Hey, there are some people here who really like you guys, so yes, of course, come on.”

Over the years, Tursi and Rosen have taken many bucket list courses including Cobblestone Beach, Spies Mountain, Cypress Point and Pronghorn.
