Omar Narvaez elects free agent

Veteran Catcher Omar NarvaezHe passed an unclaimed waiver last week, who was designated as an assignment by the White Sox. According to the MILB.com transaction log, he was assigned to Triple-A Charlotte but refused the task to support free agents.
The 33-year-old Narvaez made four games in four games back to the White Sox – with whom he initially made his debut in MLB – with two walks 2-7 in 10 sets. This is a very small sample Matt Thaiss Receiver after injury Cory Lee. Chicago spins quickly, turning Nalvaz’s roster into top prospect Edgar Querohe started a big start in Charlotte and was excellent in his first four MLB games.
Narvaez was a solid routine behind the plate in 2017-21, when he beat 1670 sets between White Sox, Mariners and Brewers and hit .266/.351/.403 with .266/.351/.403. He has improved his defensive reputation in the process, especially his franchise score, and even earned an All-Star nod alongside the 2021 Brewers.
However, his output has gradually disappeared since the 2021 season. He made a 521 plate appearance between the Winemaker, the Mets and this brief Chisox return and released a collective .201/.278/.286 line that checked the boards by wrc+’s measurements for 40% below average.
Narvaez can simply return to a new minor league contract, but despite White Sox’s second-place win rate in Major League Baseball, Catcher is their field of depth. In Quero, Lee, Thais and Top Prospects Kyle Teel – From Garrett Crochet Trade with Boston – Sox has a quartet of young receivers who land before Narvaez on the depth chart. Quero and Teel in particular are seen as potential foundations for the organization and should have important opportunities this season. Veteran Narvaez may find a weaker path to playing time with another organization.
