Pacers react to first NBA final berth in 25 years

The Pacers shocked the world by eliminating the Knicks to advance to the NBA finals for the second consecutive year.

Indiana defeated New York 4-2 in the final, ending the game with a 125-108 victory and ensuring its first finals since 2000.

“I can’t say how special this group is,” said Tyrese Haliburton. “How much does that mean to us.”

Halliburton added: “We’re just talking about, man, that’s what we do together. Doing something special and we’re part of it now.”

For many, Haliburton was an inside and outside MVP in the series as he stood at a big moment, but in the end, Pascal Siakam won the Larry Bird trophy with a vote and proved the difference maker.

“It makes sense to be in this position,” Siakam said. “It’s amazing to be able to reach this level and have the opportunity to compete in the NBA championship. ”

The Pacers are of course special.

Just one example – they trailed eight points in the playoffs by eight points, three remaining, and returned to win – a feat in NBA history that only one team did before these pacemakers.

“This group is special and does something very special,” said Pacers coach Rick Carlisle. “So we don’t take it for granted at all.”

But they are not done yet. Carlisle confirmed that “this is not the time to pop up the champagne”, just like Siakam.

Siakam said: “I think you love tonight tonight and then we have to move forward. [to the Finals] When I was in 3rd grade, I thought I would be back there a lot. Nothing happened. So it’s a hell and you don’t know when to get it again. ”
