Palestinians celebrate Eid in the smoke and ruins of Gaza

The Palestinians in the Gaza Strip solemnly mark the Muslim Festival between the ruins and further air strikes on Sunday.

Witnesses said the streets did not have the usual cheers, but were silent on the streets, and many expressed condolences to their lost relatives, rather than wishing each other happy.

After a brief ceasefire, Israel resumed the recovery of bombings in the Gaza Strip, and many people were busy paying attention.

Amina al-Nadjar of Rafa City told DPA: “I have ever worn the best clothes and visited relatives with them.”

Now her three children ask why they don’t wear new holidays. “How can I tell them we have almost no enough food?” said the mother, touching her daughter’s torn dress.

Residents told the DPA that the air on the Gaza Strip was not filled with the typical holiday baking flavor, but rather violent attacks and combat smoke.

Most of the population lives in emergency shelters and tents, and after a year and a half, most of the coastal areas were ruined.

Witnesses say that in order to preserve some of the usual traditions, parents say parents use oranges as a treat.

According to Gaza health officials, the Gaza war hit about 50,000 dead in the number of Israeli officials, starting with an Israeli attack led by Hamas on October 7, 2023, in which militants killed 1,200 people, killed 1,200 people and kidnapped 250 others.

Since then, fierce fighting has displaced most of Gaza’s 2 million residents, and many have lost multiple family members in the conflict.
