Palestinians in Gaza protest against Hamas for the second consecutive day

The second day in a row, protests broke out in the Gaza Strip as thousands of Palestinians demanded an end to the war with Israel and angrily exclaimed to the Hamas leadership.

Witnesses told the DPA that demonstrations broke out in several areas Wednesday night, including Beit Lahia in the north and Gaza City and Khan Younis in the south.

Many protesters publicly condemn Hamas – rarely happening in the territory, and Islamic organizations usually disagree.

Most of the anger is directed at Hamas leaders who live abroad.

Demonstrators accused them of ignoring the suffering of Gaza people, as many coastal areas were in ruins more than 17 months after the war. Although the living conditions in Gaza are disastrous, it is well known that some high-ranking Hamas figures live in places such as Qatar.

Hundreds also gathered at Beit Lahia on Tuesday to demand an end to the fight, some of whom called on Hamas to resign. Similar protests reportedly took place elsewhere in the Gaza Strip.

The war began with the deadly attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023 by Hamas-led militants. Since then, fierce fighting has displaced most of Gaza’s 2 million residents, and many have lost multiple family members in the conflict.

Last week, Israel resumed large-scale military operations after a ceasefire collapse with Hamas.

Israel says new operation in Gaza is about to

Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Katz announced that new operations will soon be carried out in other parts of the Gaza Strip as he encouraged anti-Hamas protests.

He told residents of the coastal areas that in other parts of Gaza, the Israel Defense Forces will soon go all out in other parts of Gaza and ask you to evacuate from the combat zone. ”

Katz said Hamas is endangering the lives of Gaza residents and causing them to lose their homes.

Last week, Kaz threatened that Israel would permanently take over parts of the Gaza Strip if Hamas did not release the rest of Israeli hostages.

The defense minister said the longer Hamas refuses to release the hostages, the more Israeli territory it will lose.

Kaz also called for ongoing demonstrations against Hamas, saying that all Palestinians should “request for the evacuation of Hamas from Gaza and the immediate release of all Israeli hostages – the only way to stop the war.”

Israel’s radical fire missiles

The Israeli military said on Wednesday that the extremist group Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) has launched new missiles from Israel’s Gaza Strip.

The military said two rockets were fired from central Gaza to Israel, adding that one of the projectiles was intercepted.

It said a second missile landed in a settlement near the border with Gaza.

Pier said the attack was a “response to the crimes of the Zionist enemy against our Palestinian people”.

On Wednesday night, Pij fired a third missile at Israel.

Last week, the Israeli military resumed air and ground operations in Gaza, effectively breaking the temporary ceasefire negotiated with Hamas in January.

In the re-fight, hundreds of Palestinians were killed and Israel blamed the failure of negotiations with Hamas to extend the ceasefire.
