Aside from some blood-curdling rants, Chris Smith is left alone to wonder what other surprises this dimension holds.
Are you still wondering what salvation is? Does it appear in the comics and what role does it play in the DCU? This is a big deal and could lead to one of the biggest villains in comic book history.
Don’t worry, this redemption guide will bring you up to speed on everything you need to know. Warning: There are spoilers below.
What is redemption in Peacemaker?

In this way, Redemption allows the government to do on a larger scale what Lex Luthor did in Deliverance. Redemption exists in DC Comics
Salvation is not for peacemaker;Instead, it was introduced in the 2007 DC Comics series Long-distance race for salvation. The comic was created by Bill Willingham and Lila Sturges, who adapted the original game of Thrones Founder George RR Martin. The premise of the comic is basically the same as what you see in the comic peacemaker: The United States exiles a group of supervillains in an attempt to make the world a safer place.

The planet’s official name is 4019 Cygnus, but “Redemption” is just its nickname. Other than that, the main difference is that in the comics the government only targets supervillains, but the government in the DCU seems to want to exile all The redemption of metahumans, whether they are heroes or villains.
Interestingly, the Redemption Run comic eventually revealed that Darkseid was using the planet as a training ground for Darkseid’s new God of Apokolips. As such, it’s overseen by his lieutenant DeSaad, who unleashes Parademon’s followers to fight the villains and effectively determine who is the most powerful bad guy.
What will happen to Asylum in future DCU TV shows and movies?
So far, everything we know about Redemption and the DCU has come from hints James Gunn has been dropping. For example, during a recent press conference, Gunn confirmed that redemption will play a big role in the Superman sequel people of tomorrowbut he didn’t indicate what that character would be or whether the film would feature the Peacemaker, last seen in Redemption. Still, we can expect unexpected arcs for some of the traditional villains, as Gunn “likes the idea of being able to create an alternative environment where those who are considered bad metahumans will have to figure out a new way to create a society.”
This is similar to what happened in the original novel Long-distance race for salvation In the comics, some villains try to escape, while others try to create a new society for themselves. That being said, you shouldn’t assume that the comics will offer many hints about redemption in the DCU, as Gunn has stated that he’s more interested in exploring the “concept” of redemption than creating a direct comic adaptation. So unless Gunn reveals the secret sooner rather than later, we’ll just have to wait for future movies and TV shows to see where the redemption story goes and whether it manages to land successfully (like Superman himself).
How Peacemaker Redemption Revealed Superman’s Next Big Villain
James Gunn once again didn’t offer any specific details on how Redemption will be used in future DCU movies and shows. But because The planet is actually an outpost of Darkseid’s evil empiresome fans speculate that he will be the first big bad of this cinematic universe. This works directly people of tomorrowIn this movie, Superman and Lex Luthor are supposed to team up to fight a greater threat.
Many people (myself included) have always thought the threat was Brainiac, but it could very well be Darkseid. If he invaded Earth with an army of demons, metahumans, or both, it would likely require Superman and Lex to team up, especially when you consider that Darkseid is more than capable of taking on Superman on his own. It’s shaping up to be a crowd-pleaser, but it’s still surprising that the DCU could be introducing Darkseid so quickly after the failed introduction of Darkseid in the DCEU.
or, people of tomorrow Other future projects could make Darkseid into a threat that Superman can’t handle on his own. This may ultimately lead to AvengersA cinematic-style film in which Earth’s greatest heroes must form the Justice League to battle the greatest villains in the universe. Obviously, this will be derivative of Marvel’s storytelling, but it will provide James Gunn with a large cast to solidify the DCCU as a serious competitor to the MCU.
