A woman who traveled 1,000 kilometers across India at Tuk-tuk said it was “a considerable experience” to bring joy to people along the way.

Claire Jenkins from Dean Forest, Gloucestershire, is part of a sister rickshaw rally, with 60 women traveling from Chennai to Goa.

The organization aims to raise £350,000 to support Chennai projects to enhance women and girls’ capabilities, including building safe, weather-resistant classrooms.

The rally, held around International Women’s Day on Saturday, was a “bold statement that women can achieve together.” The group said.

Speaking to BBC radio station Gloucestershire, Ms. Jenkins said she had experienced Tuk-tuk’s collapse but was on the road again and was now approaching Bangalore.

“We have completed 175 km so far, so we are driving in more rural areas now,” Ms Jenkins said.

“Share some happiness”

“We have 18 Tuk-tuks and 60 women, which caused a lot of riots. We have a lot of people driving with us, waving and it’s great to be able to share some joy with people.

“It was quite an experience.”

During the journey ending Wednesday, the women maintained high attitudes through “Tuk-Tuk-aoke”.

“We have a speaker, we’ve been singing, it’s really bad,” she said.

“When our spokesperson ran out yesterday, we were doing elementary classes, like all the bright and beautiful things.”
