Pilot accused of child crime was captured from the cockpit a few minutes after flying land in California

Just 10 minutes after a tripod plane landed at San Francisco International Airport, law enforcement officers and federal agents entered the cockpit and arrested a pilot.

Arrested on Saturday to get passengers agape.

A passenger told the San Francisco Chronicle that officers and agents were “crossing the aisle” and entering the cockpit, where they stood by.

Rustom Bhagwagar, a 34-year-old Florida resident, was arrested on suspicion of sexual offences against minors.

Contra Costa County Sheriff’s representative and Department of Homeland Security agent arrested Bagwagar at about 9:35 p.m. Saturday after Delta Airlines landed at the SFO from Minneapolis, according to a sheriff’s press release.

Authorities say Bhagwagar was arrested and booked in Martinez detention center on five counts of oral mating with a child under the age of 10. His bail was set at $5 million.

The press release said the investigation into Bhagwagar began several months after authorities received reports that he allegedly committed a sexual crime against a child. Deputies against Costa Rica found that Bhagwagar, a pilot, arrested him once the flight was over with the assistance of the Department of Homeland Security, who was not involved in the investigation.

A spokesman for Delta Airlines said in a statement to the Times that it will work with authorities and have “zero tolerance” for alleged illegal acts.

Deputies said the investigation was still ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the sheriff’s Investigation Department at (925) 313-2600 or (866) 846-3592 for an anonymous prompt.
