Police hunting confrontation with SWAT team and armored vehicles ends

A Los Angeles police pursuit ended in a dramatic fashion on Friday afternoon, with members of the SWAT team using armored vehicles to boxes on the suspect’s truck, then breaking windows and throwing them away with gas cans to coax the driver.
The driver was an unidentified woman who was detained after 12:30 pm while the TV news helicopter broadcast the confrontation live.
Video of the incident showed SWAT team members smashing the rear of the truck and the driver’s side window with metal poles, then using the poles to drop the gas tank into the truck’s cab in an attempt to drive the driver out.
After the first dose of gasoline, the woman kicked a passenger door barefoot and appeared briefly before closing the door and staying in the truck.
A third gasoline tank appeared to solve the problem, and the woman left the vehicle, where she met about six police officers.
The incident occurred in the driveway of a house near the intersection of Coldwater Canyon Avenue and Clawson Place, half a mile south of Harvard West Lake School.
Police stopped traffic for more than two hours at the school and nearby.
According to Ktla, the pursuit began at 9:30 a.m. near Hollywood Avenue and Vine Street, when the truck hit a fire hydrant and fled police.
Along the way, police tried to disable trucks with multiple flat tires in front of a studio city house and ended up packing with multiple flat tires.
