Police investigating death of ‘full-term baby’ found near USC campus

Police are investigating the death of an infant found Monday morning near the University of Southern California campus.

Officer Jeff Lee said Los Angeles police were dispatched to the 3100 block of McClintock Avenue around 1:30 a.m.

When they arrived, police found a “deceased full-term infant,” Lee said.

The county medical examiner has not determined the child’s cause of death and the investigation is ongoing, Lee said.

Details of where the baby was found on McClintock Avenue are unclear.

According to KABC, USC students were seen entering and exiting Student Building F in the 3100 block of McClintock Avenue.

“It was really scary for everyone actually because we didn’t know what was going on and then we actually found out it was happening right next to where we live,” student Sophia Martin told the station. “It was very disturbing.”
