Powerball Jackpot climbs to $1.1 billion, next

Organizers say the game’s fifth prize is estimated to continue to climb over the holiday weekend, with an estimated $1.1 billion.

No one drew all six winning numbers on Saturday. According to Powerball press release, the winning numbers are White Balls 3, 18, 22, 27 and 33 and Red Powerball 17.

Nine tickets across the United States match all five white balls, four of which are for sale in California. These locations include two areas of Southern California – 7-11 in Duarte and Ontario Wine – as well as 7-11 in Milpitas and a Mobil station in Pleasant Hill.

The lottery says each of these winners will receive $1,165,399. In California, the bonus is spent on “Pari-Mutuel” and the amount changes depending on the tickets sold in the draw and how many winners are at the same level.

Powerball Bulletin said if a player wins Monday’s jackpot, they will have the option of a regular payment totaling $1.1 billion or a one-time estimate of $498.4 million.

The winner of the option to choose an annuity will receive an immediate payment immediately, followed by an additional 29 annual payments, an increase of 5% per year.

Both of these prize choices are calculated before tax.

No one has won the jackpot since May 31, when a ticket sold in California received a $204.5 million bonus.

According to the organizers, the chance of winning the jackpot is 292.2 million.
