Predator: Into the Wild director will revive the worst cinematic universe ever

Currently, both the Alien and Predator franchises are experiencing revivals: Alien: Romulus was a popular movie, Alien: Earth became a television sensation, and Predator: Badlands It is currently making a splash at the box office. However, both franchises were at their nadir a few years ago, with both Alien vs. Predator movies grossly trampling on established classics while giving us one phone call-in action scene after another.

Whoever loses, we win
Based on the quality of his three Predator movies and his comments in this interview, I can’t help but feel that Dan Trachtenberg may be the only director on the planet who could actually pull off an Alien vs. Predator movie. The restraint he showed in making wasteland Only a quasi-crossover would prove that he’s more interested in telling a good story than engaging in empty fan service, and his comments indicate that he knows that a truly successful cinematic universe takes a lot of time to build. He sincerely wants to take his time to make this crossover a success rather than rushing for a cheap cash grab, which seems refreshing in a world of films that are more interested in selling toys than anything else.
Only time will tell if there will be another Alien vs. Predator movie, and if Dan Trachtenberg will end up directing it. So far, though, he’s done an amazing job with the Predator films, effectively resurrecting a franchise long thought to be dead. With such a talented director, we can really turn the old AvP slogan on its head: “Whoever loses, we win.”
