Laurie Canter made his answer to golf trivia questions this week in South Africa.
Although the 35-year-old Briton lost to South Africa’s Dylan Naidoo in the Investec South Africa Open at DP World Tour, he still managed to make the top 50 in the world’s official golf golf rankings. By adopting this move, Kanter is eligible to win the player championship in two weeks. The PGA Tour invited the top 50 players from OWGR.
If Canter Tees plays on TPC Sawgrass, he will be the first former LIV golf member to compete in the PGA Tour, which is not a large or co-approved event like Genesis Scottish Open.
Canter is a member of the leeks for the 2022 Liv Golf’s inaugural season. He served as a reserve team in 2023, but has not played in LIV since last February.

Kante won the 2025 Bahrain championship last month and is currently ranked third in the Dubai rankings. He finished third in the Heroes Dubai Desert Classic, with Tyrrell Hatton winning the game in January.
Last season, Canter won six top 25 on the DP World Tour, including the European Open in June.
Canter entered Naidoo’s 54-hole lead on Sunday, but the DP World Tour canceled its final round due to flooding. Canter and Naidoo faced each other in a sudden death playoff, and Naidoo won the game with a birdie. This is Naidoo’s first victory in the DP World Tour.
With runner-up, Kanter is now the first former LIV player to qualify for the PGA Tour flagship event. The PGA Tour restricts non-members from participating in the PGA Tour until a year after their final appearance.
Kanter’s clock has run out and his points in the Owls will earn him a ticket to TPC Sawgrass and have a place in golf history.
