Renault in talks with carmakers after Brazil’s deal with Geely

<span>Story: Renault in talks with more carmakers, including China’s Chery, exploring partnerships to jointly produce and sell cars</span><span>Fabrice Cambolive, Chief Growth Officer of Groupe Renault, disclosed the status of the talks to reporters on Friday (October 31).</span><span>It also announced on Monday (November 3) the completion of a transaction with China’s Geely in Brazil.</span><span>It highlights how Renault is increasingly partnering with other carmakers in global markets to make its factories around the world more efficient.</span><span>Renault signed an agreement to sell more than 26% of Geely’s Brazilian unit, according to a press release issued on Monday. </span><span>The two companies are joining forces in Latin America, the largest market where BYD has been building factories and making progress.</span><span>As part of the Brazil deal, Geely will have access to Renault’s factory in Paraná state.</span><span>It will assemble Geely-branded vehicles and distribute them through Renault’s sales network.</span><span>Renault will use Geely’s automotive architecture to expand its product range into other segments of the Brazilian market.</span>
