Rob’s father is the famous comedian Carl Reiner, who won 11 Emmy Awards in his life. His mother, Estelle, is an actress and singer. When Harry Met Sally…The iconic deli scene.
Carl and Estelle were married for nearly 65 years until Estelle’s death in October 2008 at the age of 98. Carl passed away in June 2020 at the age of 98.
Anne and Lucas Renner
Rob has two siblings, Anne and Lucas, both accomplished artists in their own right.
Anne, 76, is a playwright, author, poet and singer.
Lucas, 65, is a painter, photographer and filmmaker.

Before marrying Michelle, Rob was married to actress and director Penny Marshall from 1971 to 1981. He adopted Penny’s daughter Tracy from a previous relationship.
Penny is best known for playing Laverne DeFazio on the classic sitcom Laverne and Shirley. She has also directed several films, including big, a league of their own and Riding in a car with a boy.
Penny passed away in December 2018 at the age of 75.
Michelle Singer Rainer
After divorcing Penny, Rob met actress and photographer Michelle while directing when harry met sally. They married in 1989, the same year the movie was released.
In 2016, Rob told The AV Club that he changed the ending of the classic romantic comedy after meeting his wife. (Originally, Harry and Sally were meant to separate, but in the final cut, they got married.)

Nick Reiner
Screenwriter Nick, 32, co-produced the 2015 film with his father, be charliedirected by Rob and co-written by Nick. The film is based on Nick’s experiences with heroin addiction and homelessness. (He wrote the screenplay with a former addict Matt Alithofen.)
“It was very, very difficult to go through it the first time, with these painful and difficult highs and lows. And then making this movie dug it all out again,” Rob told the outlet. Los Angeles Times 2015.
In interviews, father and son detailed Nick’s struggles in therapy.
“This program works for some people, but it’s not going to work for everyone,” Robb said at the time. “When Nick told us it wouldn’t work for him, we didn’t listen. We were desperate because people had diplomas on their walls and we listened to our son when we should have listened to them.”
Nick said of his addiction, “I’m tired of it. I’m tired of doing this… I come from a great family and I shouldn’t be out on the streets and in homeless shelters doing all of these… things.”
Romy Rainer
Romi is an actress and director, just like the rest of her family. She appears in the 2023 Netflix comedy you people and directed and wrote the short film stay here.
Romi is also active on social media, often sharing adorable videos with her dad, including one of them discussing “sexiness” on Instagram in April.
