Rockford Icehogs |Thanks to Brock McGillis Talk

McGillis started with vulnerability and courage as his dining table, beginning with the early days of his early years learning the sport in Ontario. He shares the struggles he faces, from considering making a living in his career to his experiences. McGillis heard stories of pasts related to teams in the United States and Canada, thus creating an environment of comfort.
The character changed midway through the conversation. Brock asked staff and crew to leave the locker room for the rest of the meeting.
“We did an exercise to ask people to share something that other members of their team might not know,” Seni explained. “I didn’t know something my teammates were going through or were going through before, which made them what they were like.”
Seney is in his eighth professional season, with 66 NHL games in his games. He has worked in three organizations, six professional teams, and has hundreds of teammates throughout his career. Even with all this experience, breaking the complex dynamics behind hockey is still not an easy task.
“We all want to be as strong as on the ice, and it’s with the body on the ice, you want to have a certain intimidation factor, but at the same time, we’re people,” Seni explained. “Once the gear falls off, you can be yourself. It’s better to put down the barriers and encourage people to be yourself.”
