Rosie O’Donnell speaks out after daughter Chelsea was ordered to jail

“My child Chelsea Belle – who I loved before addiction took over her life and who I love now as she faces a horrific future – welcomes prayers,” the former talk show host, 63, wrote on Instagram on Wednesday, October 29, sharing a childhood photo of Chelsea. Rosie also added the hashtags addiction awareness, love and family.
This article was published hours later US Weekly Chelsea’s probation was revoked by a Wisconsin judge for allegedly violating terms stemming from her three drug-related arrests in 2024, it was exclusively revealed on Wednesday.
Rosie’s daughter was taken into custody on September 10, 2024, on charges of drug possession and child neglect. That same year, she was arrested twice more for drugs (October 11 and November 18).
In January 2025, Chelsea was sentenced to six years of probation after reaching a plea agreement with prosecutors that covered all three arrests.
According to her plea agreement, Chelsea will “strictly comply” with the rules of treatment drug court and maintain “absolute sobriety.” Rosie’s daughter is also prohibited from possessing or consuming alcohol, controlled drugs or any substance.
She wasn’t out of trouble, though.

In June, a court filing shows a hearing was held regarding a “medication violation.” Around the same time, Chelsea were also ordered to carry out two hours of trenching work as punishment for their alleged absence.
In August, the court said it heard “progress but concerns” about her treatment plan and ordered her to undergo 36 hours of community service.
On September 29, a Treatment Drug Court official claimed that Chelsea violated her probation on the sexual assault charges. They also claimed no significant progress had been made on her treatment drug plan.

“The Marinette County Treatment Drug Court Team has been equipped with the facts surrounding this request and is deemed to have sufficient grounds to terminate the Marinette County Treatment Drug Court program,” the document reads.
On October 27, an official with the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office confirmed us Chelsea has been detained and jailed since September 9, but the date of her transfer was not confirmed.
