Russia says potential military deployment in Ukraine is unacceptable

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told reporters on Thursday that Vlakivostok, Russia (Reuters) – Russia has no plans to discuss any potential foreign military deployment in any form, calling it “unacceptable.”

She commented on European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen’s plan to send European troops to Ukraine, a move that was also rejected by Germany.

In an interview with the Financial Times on Sunday, von der Leyen said Europe is developing “very precise plans” to deploy to Ukraine as part of post-conflict security assurances that will be supported by U.S. capabilities.

Zakharova told reporters that Russia will not discuss foreign intervention in Ukraine in any form or format, which is fundamentally unacceptable and undermines any security. ”

German Defense Minister was also dismissed without responsibility by Von der Leyen’s premature remarks on Monday.
