Scottie Scheffler’s “Happy Gilmore 2” cameo prompts FedEx Cup Chicken Shack

Fans of the FedEx St. Jude Championship this weekend can be like Scottie Scheffler.
Netflix showed off “Scottie’s Chicken Shack” at the event, a tribute to the role of the four-time Major champion in “Happy Gilmore 2.”
In the July 25 film released on Netflix, Scheffler made a playful cameo, which included a short film that he slammed the Maxi Golfer team he faced, eventually wearing handcuffs to mock the famous short film of the titular character. The scene also mentioned that after Scheffler tried to drive into the 2024 PGA Championship website entrance, Louisville Metro was arrested by Louisville Metro police outside Valhalla Golf Club.
As the officer approached Scheffler, the joke continued in the Holding Cell: “It’s been three days – make sure you don’t want to call?”
“Depending on. What is dinner?” Scheffler asked. The officer said chicken fingers, prompting Schefler to answer: “I will stay in the virus clip on another night.”
TPC Southwind’s Chicken Shack includes a live photo OP of Scheffler, where fans can “do the time”. The menu features classic chicken fingers, Memphis honey golden chicken fingers and spicy lemon pepper wet fingers.
Scheffler called the experience “very fun” and said Adam Sandler and his team did a great job of making golfers comfortable.
“It’s one thing I told them after I finished filming it, like, ‘You did a great job, I think this movie would be great,'” he said Wednesday. “But the most important thing is that everyone in the movie is great. Everyone was relaxed. They work hard, but they have fun doing it. ”
Scheffler is one of many past and present golfers, including Jack Nicklaus, Fred Couples, Rory McIlroy, Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka.
He added that his family and friends loved the movie, although Scheffler (who never liked the spotlight) said it was a unique experience to see himself on the big screen.
“I think it’s a bit weird to see myself – we’re sitting there with the Prime Minister sitting and whenever I show up on the screen it’s just a weird feeling and I’m definitely not used to it,” he said. “But like I said, we shot a lot of fun. It seems like the public reception is really good.”
Scheffler won the Open Championship last month.
