“Seeing this more and more”

Tesla’s boss hopes that a fully charged electric car will experience a rude awakening as it approaches the driveway in the morning.

A Redditor brought to R/Teslalounge Subreddit and shared a photo of the frustrating scene with a simple title: “I was cut/stolen from my cable last night.” The photo shows that the charger is still docking on their Tesla and the cable is removed.

Electric cars offer several benefits that make it an excellent choice for a cleaner, healthier future. Arguably the most important advantage is that they do not produce exhaust pollution, which means they do not release harmful polluted gases such as carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides.

A study conducted in the Bay Area showed that the adoption of electric vehicles led to a steady decline in CO2 pollution, down 1.8% per year.

Unfortunately, Redditor is facing a situation that is growing in many places. For example, in Minneapolis-ST, the vandals reportedly damaged about 83 chargers. In the Paul area, it costs about $46,000 in repairs, adding unnecessary costs and inconvenience to electric vehicle drivers.

In Seattle, drivers reported multiple cases of cable disconnection, which prevented them from charging the car and increased range anxiety.

These types of events could hinder potential EV owners and slow down widespread adoption of EVs, which is essential to reduce our use of dirty energy such as natural gas and oil.

There are also hesitations about the concerns about pollution caused during the manufacturing of electric vehicle batteries, and the mining of elements required for battery production is environmentally harmful.

However, it has been determined that gasoline-powered cars significantly cause more pollution, and the impact of mining on dirty energy substances such as coal, oil and gas is greater than clean energy minerals such as lithium, cobalt and copper.

Still, that hasn’t stopped people from pushing for the move to electric cars. Redditor’s post met the reaction of commentators who were not surprised by the vandalism.

“Seeing this more and more,” one commenter wrote.

Another said, “It is precisely why we cannot have good things.”
