“After experiencing flu-like symptoms over the weekend, Senator McConnell visited a local hospital last night for evaluation, out of an abundance of caution,” the statement read.
The Kentucky Republican’s statement also noted that his prognosis is “positive” and that he is receiving “quality care.”
The conclusion: “He remains in regular contact with staff and looks forward to returning to Senate business.”
It’s unclear how long McConnell is expected to stay in the hospital.

The politician has been publicly sharing his health struggles for years, and the recent fall in a Capitol hallway in Washington, D.C., was witnessed and filmed by reporters.

His fall at the Capitol was the third public fall in 2025, and the politician had two public falls at the Capitol in total.
