Senator Jeník is named AHL Player of the Week | theahl.com

Springfield, Massachusetts. …The American Hockey League today announced that Senator Belleville is moving forward JanJeník Has been selected as Howies Hockey Tape/AHL Players of the Week During the period ending March 16, 2025.

Jennike scored eight and six in two games last week, leading the Senators to a pair of much-needed wins in pursuit of a Calder Cup playoff spot.

Belleville hosted the weekend series at the CAA Arena, with Jeník recording five assists on Friday night with a 6-1 victory, matching the franchise record. Then on Saturday, he scored a goal in the game, improving to 8-0-1-0 in Belleville’s last nine family games, scoring two more assists in another 6-1 Senator’s win and a game-high five goals in another 6-1 Senator’s win.

Jeník is a fifth-grade professional who has scored a total of nine goals and 14 assists in 38 games this season and has played in two games with parents Ottawa Senators. The 24-year-old, Nymburk Czechia, was the third round of Arizona in the 2018 NHL draft and was acquired by Ottawa in a deal with Utah on July 3, 2024.

In 203 professional AHL games against Belleville and Tucson, Jeník recorded 55 goals and 88 assists with a score of 143 points. He scored goals in both the first two professional NHL games in the Coyotes in 2021 and aggregated four goals and two assists in 24 professional NHL outings in Arizona and Ottawa.
