Singer Ray J arrested on Thanksgiving for allegedly making threats in Los Angeles

R&B singer Ray J was arrested early Thanksgiving morning, according to jail records and a police spokesman.
The 44-year-old artist, whose legal name is Willie Norwood, was arrested on suspicion of criminal threats, according to Los Angeles Police Chief Mike Bland.
Jail records show Norwood was arrested around 4 a.m. by officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Devon Division, which patrols parts of the San Fernando Valley, including Chatsworth and Northridge.
Bland could not provide details of the incident or reveal the exact location of Norwood’s arrest. He was released on $50,000 bail hours after his arrest, according to jail records.
Norwood is the younger brother of actor and singer Brandi, best known for his songs “One Wish” and “Sexy Can I.” In October, he was sued for defamation by ex-girlfriend Kim Kardashian over comments he made in a TMZ documentary.
Ray J is married to actress and producer Princess Love Norwood, and the two co-starred in the reality show “Love & Hip Hop,” which showcased an often controversial relationship. The two have two children and are currently going through divorce proceedings, People magazine reported last year.
